Get PCSX2 from the official PCSX2 website (Windows, Linux, macOS). Prefer stable builds for predictability or nightly builds for the newest fixes—this documentation site does not host installers.
Before you install: close other heavy apps, note your GPU driver version, and decide whether you want the predictable behavior of a stable build or the newest fixes in a nightly (with more churn).
Windows
64-bit builds; installer or portable layouts depending on release. Enable Vulkan/OpenGL-capable GPU drivers.
- Prefer an install path without special characters
- Run as a normal user; avoid shimming old DirectX runtimes unless needed
After download
Launch once to create config folders, then continue with Setup Guides for BIOS placement, memory cards, and first game test. If something fails, use Troubleshooting with your exact error text.
